If all that checks out it's $10 & a few minutes work to try one If I go to the range and put 200 rounds through I will get 2 or 3 hitting me in the face and 2 or 3 that miss my face and go over my shoulder.
Gen 4 ejector serial numbers#
When the brass was extracting funny I figured I got a later model one but I checked the serial numbers and it is from 2002. My Gen3 G17 is the only one with the LCI extractor and it is the only one I am having issues with. The Gen3 G17 is the only one I am having ejection issues with. I have two gen 4 Glocks (a G34 and a G26) and I havent had any ejection problems, or any problems at all with either of them. I use the same mags in my Gen2 G17, Gen3 G17, and at times my Gen3 G19. Glock has been rather cautious to not put out any direct statements about the problem, but have redesigned the ejector to a more broad shape (now marked 30274), and have been replacing the older ejector on Gen 4 pistols sent in for service that were having this problem. The mag springs have all been replaced w/ Wolff +10%.Ģ. I'd be thinking magazine springs in a 10 year old Glock that has developed variable ejection.ġ. The Gen3 has the LCI extractor so I cannot try it in my Gen2.

I have had it all apart and everything moves freely, no burrs/highspots.

Gen 4 ejector free#
I also swapped the the springs from the Gen2 G17 that I have had zero issues with and it still does it.Ĭheck extractor condition and tension as well as free movement. I did all the springs in my Glocks at the beginning of the year. GENUINE GLOCK TRIGGER HOUSING Customized to fit Generations 1/2/3/4 For 9mm Models G17 G19 G26 G34 Only (NOT FOR G43, G43X, G48, Gen 5) Fits Any 9mm. I think this is a parts problem, with some recent QC fail and internal shufflings on Glock's part being the likely culprit. The early models generally don't do BTF, but how many rounds on the RSA?Ībout 1k rounds. I've seen lots of gen 4's (including my own) run like glockwork.

Some folks had to resort to the expensive Apex aftermarket extractor to get their guns to run right. You can source the other parts, extended slide stop, extended slide lock and a premium mag release from ebay. It corrected most of the issues, however folks still complained that ejection was weak compared to other pistols, and still had BTF issues. I don’t get to shoot near as much as I’d like or these would both be at 20,000 rounds by now. While youre at Rook tactical, get a Nomad clone gen4 ejector for 5 bucks, they work great. I'm not going to go so far as to argue that the Gen 4 issues are frame flex induced. All 9mm gen 4 guns and the Glock 19 and 17 gen 5 now ship with this ejector installed. Couldn't we take your argument to its logical conclusion then and state that it's possible the design of the gen 4's is fundamentally flawed? Since there is subtle difference in the way the frame flexes depending on which hand you're shooting from, there may be a correlation between problem pistols and shooter handedness.Oy, that doesn't fill me with a particularly high degree of confidence. Rival Arms Glock Gen 3/4 Ejector - Designed for Glock specifically, this ejector is top of the line quality It is funtional with models G17,19, 26. I am curious if there is a different reliability experience in right- vs. It might just be a simple case of tolerance stacking in the part dimensions as well as the polymer formula. Earlier models may have looser tolerances because there isn't so much stuff jammed into the new grip on the Gen4. When Glock changed the grip and trigger housing, it seems they may have misjudged the amount of material needed to maintain the dimensional stability of those parts under recoil.īut, what causes some Gen4s to run while others have ejection problems? Could be that some batches of the frame polymer are a hair stiffer or even softer. JHC- This is a guess, but I'd say all the Gen4 problems come down to flex in the Gen4 frame.
